Orion Aeromedical is a New Zealand-based aeromedical and medical repatriation company providing dedicated air ambulance, medical escort, and bedside-to-bedside patient transport services throughout New Zealand, the Asia-Pacific region, and internationally.
Founded by experienced clinicians and healthcare leaders, Orion combines extensive expertise across aeromedical retrieval, intensive care medicine, ambulance operations, military medicine, primary healthcare, remote medicine, and international patient transport.
Through our partnership with NZJet, Orion Aeromedical operates two dedicated jet aircraft:
• Gulfstream G100 – supporting longer-range aeromedical operations throughout the APAC region and beyond
• Citation 560 – ideal for rapid regional and trans-Tasman missions throughout New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific
Our aeromedical teams include experienced Flight Doctors, Flight Nurses, and Critical Care Flight Paramedics trained in aeromedical retrieval, critical care transport, and complex patient movement. Supported by a clinically led and governance-driven framework, Orion focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centred care throughout every stage of the journey.

Our Story
Orion Aeromedical was founded from a shared vision to build a clinically led aeromedical service focused on safe, coordinated, and patient-centred international transport.
After working together across military, ambulance, remote, and civilian healthcare environments, our founders recognised the need for a service that combined strong clinical governance, operational discipline, and flexible global retrieval capability with genuinely personalised patient care.
Today, Orion Aeromedical supports dedicated air ambulance missions, medical escorts, and complex international repatriations throughout New Zealand, the Asia-Pacific region, and worldwide.
